Gorgeous floral appliqué wedding dresses

Ultra pretty floral appliqué wedding dresses are romantic and glamorous. Flowers appear in many of my designs and many of my signature couture wedding dresses are appliquéd with gorgeous handmade flowers or cut out lace flowers with beaded centres.

When Jessica came to see me to have her wedding dress made she fell in love with my floral appliqué wedding dresses.

She decided she wanted her dress to depict her love of everything Japanese and echo the theme of her winter forest wedding. I made her dress from cut guipure lace over nude tulle and embellished it with hand cut large 3 dimensional lotus flowers made from ivory silk with a hand painted blush tint and pearl centres.

Vines cut from the lace and painted in shades of forest green draped over her dress and twisted around the nude tulle sleeves.

A cathedral length veil with appliqué flowers and vines added extra drama for her walk down the aisle. A matching silk velvet cloak appliquéd with the same flowers and vines kept her warm for the forest walk from the country church to the venue.

Flowers are such a big part of weddings and their meaning shouldn’t be overlooked. The white lotus flowers Jessica chose for her wedding dress symbolise mental purity and spiritual perfection in the Buddhist faith.

Camellia flowers feature on one of the floral appliqué wedding dresses in my collection and represent the union between two lovers; while the ivory roses on one of my veils symbolise the purity of love. White calla lilies are very popular with brides and these symbolise magnificence and beauty, purity and innocence.
