Brides – what to wear for your post-wedding brunch
Wedding celebrations now often extend into two days of celebrations – sometimes even three. More and more, family and friends are scattered all over the country or abroad and a wedding is a lovely opportunity for everyone to get together. And so post-wedding brunches have become the norm and that means brides need to plan a second outfit.
All eyes will be on the bride on day two of the celebrations and you will want to wow your guests although this time the priority will likely be the comfort.
Remember you will probably be tired but elated after little sleep and a lot of rich food, alcohol and dancing at your celebrations the day before.
So be kind to yourself! You can keep the wedding theme going by wearing a white day dress – and this would also be a useful addition to your honeymoon wardrobe.
If you are going straight to the airport you will need to think about being comfortable on the plane. Be chic and sophisticated but opt for a loose waist, tunic or wrap style dress.
One of my brides was having her post-wedding brunch in a Sussex barn in August and wanted a dress that would be easy to wear.
I made her a 1950’s style wrap dress from crisp cotton, a good choice because the temperature on her wedding weekend soared to over 30C. The dress was also very useful for her overseas honeymoon.
You can keep a bridal look wearing white capri or palazzo pants with a white top or blouse and ballet pumps. A maxi dress in a floaty fabric with sandals is a perfect choice as it will give you that wow factor but be comfortable to wear as you relax with your guests.
