Time to say thanks to my incredible creative team

It has been a very busy summer and that has meant a lot of late nights and early mornings to make sure couture garments go out that meet my very high standards. I am so proud of the way my team have worked so well together – and I know how lucky I am to be supported by such talented young women.

Each brings different skills to my studio: Sam is brilliant at taking my designs and working with me to bring them to life; Rebecca has a fantastic eye for detail and her fascinators and bags are just gorgeous; and then I have Ami, an award-winning embroiderer, coming in to help with bespoke projects that require detailed embroidery, as was needed recently for a very glamorous mother of the bride evening dress.

August is always just a little bit quieter and now I have just a little time to myself, I am planning my own event – how I got here I don’t know but it is my 60th birthday this month! It will be a 1940’s/50’s themed party, my favourite era. And of course, it has become a real creative project as I am making all the decorations and food along with a lot of vintage surprises and my own outfit. I don’t want to give too much away but I will share the photos next month.

Meanwhile, enjoy your summer break and this amazing weather.

Wedding costs are rising all the time and I am beginning to see a trend against commercialism. Some brides are turning their backs on the long list of wedding industry suppliers and doing it themselves.
