Laura and her mother walked onto my stand at The National Wedding Show, Olympia and literally fell in love with one of my show stopper wedding dresses. After trying it on there was no other dress for Laura – it fitted perfectly and her mother had a tear in her eye. Just to be sure, Laura walked around the show looking at other wedding dresses but didn’t see anything she wanted to try on. She was looking for something unique. So she came back to see me, even though Laura’s wedding was two years off, she knew she had found her dream wedding dress and was ready to commit.
Her wedding dress a one of a kind made from a beautiful shade of nude silk and nude tulle overlaid with ivory guipure lace cut to graduate down the skirt. This formed a base for hundreds of hours of work applying hand-cut appliqué flowers, leaves and silk feathers that were attached by hand with pearls and crystals. The waistband was heavily beaded with my signature Deco style beading using assorted crystals, pearls and tiny antique gold beads. A plunge back and built-in cups made her wedding dress easy to wear.
For the wedding ceremony I made a removable skirt of ivory silk taffeta stiffened to keep its shape and embellished to match the dress. A light cathedral length veil edged with lace and hand-cut flowers added to the drama of Laura’s dream wedding dress. The effect was breathtaking… ‘It was the perfect dream dress,’ says Laura,
